Ok, during my trip to Chicago this dress was the other Marc by Marc piece I picked up. I fell in love with it the moment I tried it on and knew that it was meant to be part of my closet. I always told myself that if I ever owned a piece by Mr. Jacobs I would make sure that it was something I could have for a long time and I could wear all year round since it is some pricey stuff- well folks, I think I found my match. So with that little introduction I would like to show you how I plan to wear this dress year round and offer some tips on how you can do the same with something in your wardrobe.
Look One: Late Fall/Winter
Socks: DSW (Nine West)
Boots: DSW (Steven Madden)
The first thing in my closet I pictured wearing with this dress were these cognac boots. I think the cognac really brings out the rusty colors in the dress and just adds a little something extra. Since this dress is so bold I just added all the brown shades and didn't try to pair it with something that didn't belong in the mix. The 3/4 sleeves and tights should keep me warm most of the winter!
*Another thought, after these photos were taken I also thought about pairing a chunky brown sweater over the dress for some extra warmth - and violá now you have a skirt
Look Two: Summer
Since this dress has a tribal theme going on I thought these gladiator/tribal inspired sandals would be the perfect topper. I also love the sleeves on this dress because you can do anything with them, for the summer look I decided to just push them all the way mainly to deal with the heat. With the summer look I basically just striped all the layers away and added the essentials of summer- sandals and shades!
Look Three: Spring/Middle Fall
Denim Jacket: Thrifted
Bag: DSW (Charles David - last yr.)
Shoes: DSW (Boutique 9)
With Spring and the start of Fall weather is always unpredictable and due to that I decided that a denim jacket would be the perfect solution. I also thought about how to dress this up a little bit and decided to add the shades of metallic (silver necklace; gold shoes). The dress has such bold colors that again, I just wanted to pair it with more neutral tones to let the dress stand out and not to be over accessorized.
Do you guys have anything in your closet that you wear year-round?
