Miu Miu Heels

Several months ago I finally got my rump down to the Gap Outlet to check things out. I left a happy little lark! This dress is 100% silk (yes a pain to clean, but so pretty in person) and was originally $1oo but since it was a 2008 dress it was way marked down to $20! I was like hells yes you are going home with me! Since the dress is simple and all one color I figured I would pop a little in with my Miu Miu heels. I feel as if these shoes are the perfect date night shoes, especially a first date (hey ladies hey!).

That Retro Thang

When I got up this morning this coral halter is the first thing I laid my eyes on. My knees are heeling nicely so I decided to give my jeans a go and cuffed them to give that extra retro touch and to go along with the retro-ness of the halter. Extras to top it all off- my leopard sunnies, I found these glasses in Chicago and fell in love as soon as I saw them. I'm a sucka for anything leopard print. I tried to create little bouffant which is kind of hard when you have all this hair. And I put on my little gold shoes to bring out the brown/goldish print in the shirt. And there you have it, a modern yet retro inspired look. In the future I'd like to pair this halter with a pair of high waist jeans, something I'm scouting for fall.

When I bought this dress one of my main reasons was because you could dress it up and dress it down. So I decided to take that note and create a day to night look. The first look could be for work, school. The cardigan adds a preppy simplistic school girl look and the flats make it easy to walk around in. The night look I decided didn't need too much dressing up, I just added the gold cuff and shoes to compliment the yellow tones in the dress. I'd say if you plan on going from day to night keep the accessories simple so you're not carrying around your entire closet.

50's Gal

At first I wasn't sure about this outfit but I ended up really diggin' it. One of my favorite era's is the 1950's and that was what I was trying to channel here, a weekend 50's gal. I'm really feeling the dress shirt tied at the waist for the summer because it makes everything so much cooler- weather wise and adds a cute touch to the outfit. Also, speakin' of the 50's (well now 60's) who is pumped for Mad Men tonight?! I have my DVR all set up to record, can't wait to see what happens!

This top is actually a nightie-hah! but I thought it was pretty enough to be worn around town. The jeans are Lucky Jeans that I found at a thrift store. Even though it isn't the most figure flattering top I still felt like a little ball of sunshine. Plus I love anything that is flowy or see through, I do not know why, but I just do!

In relation to the update of Sara and I going our separate ways I too will be continuing on with my own fashion diary. I am also considering doing a wedding planning/weight loss blog, I go back and forth on it, but I think it would be more for me and my attention disorder brain to document everything. I will keep you all posted. I really appreciate all the kindness you have showed us, whenever I am having a bad day reading all your kind words really lifts my spirits-thank you for that!
